Six More Weeks of Winter
Tues Feb 02, 2010

Some groundhog saw his shadow today in Pennsylvania. That means six more weeks of winter. Maybe they should move him to Florida because the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season is about to get started down in Daytona Beach Florida with two weeks of racing on the 2.5 mile super speedway. It is an incredibly busy time for Brian Vickers over the next two weeks to finally get going.

Wednesday at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, BV will be shooting photos and interviewing for a cover of NASCAR Illustrated that will come out later this season. We will let you know where to look for it on news stands. Thursday is the yearly "arts and crafts" for the TV Networks. This is where they shoot all the promotional items and graphics you see on your screen during the race broadcast. He is also going to be doing the promotional stuff for the 2010 Prelude to the Dream- Tony Stewarts annual charity race. It's also NASCAR Media Day. Brian along with the other drivers will answer all the early pre-season questions the press corps has. (If you are on Twitter make sure to follow some of the NASCAR Media who do a great job of giving you instant feedback on what the drivers are saying. Jeff Gluck @jeff_gluck, Marty Smith @martysmitthespn, Jenna Fryer @jennafryer, Bob Pockrass @bobpockrass ,Nate Ryan @nateryan and others are on there all the time posting news and info). Once all the talk is done, its time to strap in the Red Bull 83 Toyota for the first competitive laps with practice for the 2010 Bud Shootout Practice. Finally the Draw Party is later Thursday night to pick the starting spots for the Shootout on Staurday night (FOX at 8PM).

Friday is some more seat time to get ready for the Daytona 500 with qualifying for the Great American Race on Saturday afternoon. These two laps will determine the front row for the 500 and also set the lineup for the Duel 150's next Thursday. And again- Saturday night; The 75 lap dash for cash in the Bud Shootout.

Sunday is an off day and Brian will be supporting fellow Red Bull athlete Reggie Bush in the Super Bowl.

We'll keep you posted. Its a busy two weeks.
